It handled its subject matter poorly and insulted its audiences' intelligence. The tragedy is that it COULD have been so much better, unlike some films that could never be more than mediocre.
-I'm sure you are correct that Frost/Nixon was a great film. I was objecting to the overuse of the whole Nixon/Watergate material. Find something new and actually interesting, people!
-I did not care for most of the acting in Brokeback Mountain. Heath Ledger just did not strike me as remarkable, nor did the movie itself. Brokeback had really pretty scenery and cinematography, though.
-Bummer about Mickey Rourke, huh?

And to Laurel: Thanks!! Love ya!Kitihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08020166064056573242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20074316.post-16077544816068385322009-03-06T18:41:00.000-05:002009-03-06T18:41:00.000-05:00I've always enjoyed reading your predictions Deb! ...I've always enjoyed reading your predictions Deb! It was fantastic in story and acting, although greatly flawed in execution.
- Danny Boyle will win because Slumdog was a new experience for the movie goers who never saw City of God and would prefer a happy ending.
- Mickey Rourke definitely deserves the win.
- Kate Winslet deserves an Oscar, although I'm not sure it's for this role, but I'm fine with her getting it since Sally Hawkins didn't even get nominated for my favorite performance of the year in Happy-Go-Lucky.
- I loved Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain although that was one of the worst movies of its year.
- I don't care much about supporting actress, but I would prefer one for Amy Adams because the other performances are too obvious.jeric2003https://www.blogger.com/profile/01427046711302423793noreply@blogger.com
