The best part was that I went to find the first aid kit at work and there were no band-aids of any kind. I wandered around forlornly and couldn't find any authority figure except the department head of engineering (my boss's boss). He took pity on me (he has kids, so he's experienced in caring for clumsy young people) and helped me fashion a bandage from a gauze pad and medical tape, while remarking of my injury, "You're prone to doing stuff like this, aren't you?"
